Sermon Notes

Opening Scripture

  • John 12:12–16 – The Triumphal Entry (Palm Sunday)
    • Jesus enters Jerusalem as King
    • People shout “Hosanna” (salvation has come)
    • A prophetic moment: God’s salvation plan unfolding

1. Understanding Palm Sunday – The Season of Fulfillment

  • Palm Sunday represents a turning point in God’s plan
  • It is the “season finale” of Jesus’ earthly ministry
  • What God had been preparing is now manifesting
  • Within days: death, resurrection, and victory

Key Insight:

  • Because Christ entered triumphantly → we are called to live triumphantly
  • “It is finished” → the work of salvation is already completed

2. The Promise of Harvest

Psalm 126:5

  • “Those who sow in tears shall reap in joy”

Galatians 6:9 (NLT)

  • “At just the right time, we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up”

Key Points:

  • Sowing may be painful → harvest is guaranteed
  • It is not a suggestion → it is a spiritual law
  • Timing matters → “due season”

3. The Call to Restore Others

Galatians 6:1–2

  • If someone falls:
    • Restore them
    • Do it with meekness
    • Bear one another’s burdens

Key Insight:

  • People may fall into:
    • Sin
    • Mistakes
    • Life challenges
  • The goal is not condemnation → restoration

What Restoration Means:

  • Bringing someone back to wholeness
  • Not just recovery → becoming stronger than before

4. The Law of Christ

John 13:34

  • “Love one another as I have loved you”

Key Truth:

  • Burden-bearing = fulfilling the law of Christ
  • You cannot truly help someone without love

Evidence of Discipleship:

  • Not titles or appearance
  • But love in action

5. Who Is “Spiritual”?

Romans 8:14

  • Those led by the Spirit are sons of God

John 3:6

  • “That which is born of the Spirit is spirit”

John 4:24

  • God is Spirit → relates with us spiritually

Definition:

A spiritual person is:

  • Born again
  • Led by the Spirit
  • Sensitive to God’s voice
  • Able to discern and help others

Key Insight:

  • If you are born again → you are spiritual
  • Not just pastors or leaders

6. Your Identity as a Spiritual Being

  • You are:
    • Not ordinary
    • Led by God
    • Spirit-filled
    • A vessel for God

Truths:

  • You carry God’s Spirit
  • You can discern situations
  • You are like the wind (John 3:8)
  • You are meant to make impact

7. Bearing Burdens – Practical Application

  • Check on people genuinely
  • Go beyond “I’m fine”
  • Show care and consistency
  • Be available to help

Important Attitude:

  • Do it with meekness
  • Not for pride or control
  • Not to expose others

8. Don’t Get Weary in Doing Good

Reality:

  • Helping others can be tiring
  • Sometimes unappreciated

Instruction:

  • Do not give up

Why?

  • There is a harvest coming

9. The Reward: Harvest of Blessing

  • God rewards burden-bearers
  • Blessings come from:
    • Helping those in need
    • Not just giving to those who can repay

Key Principle:

  • God uses people to bless people
  • When you help others → God rewards you

10. Opportunities to Be a Blessing

Galatians 6:10

  • Do good to:
    • Everyone
    • Especially fellow believers

Application:

  • Look around:
    • Who needs help?
    • Who needs encouragement?
    • Who needs restoration?

11. Final Charge

  • You are called to:
    • Restore others
    • Carry burdens
    • Love genuinely
    • Be a vessel

Prayer Focus:

  • “Lord, make me a vessel”
  • “Use me to restore others”
  • “Let me partake in the harvest of blessing”

Key Takeaways

  • Palm Sunday = beginning of fulfillment
  • You are spiritual and empowered
  • Love = law of Christ
  • Helping others = kingdom assignment
