Title: MFM — Made For More

Main Texts

  • 1 Samuel 16:4–13
  • Ephesians 2:10

Theme Scripture

“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago.” (Ephesians 2:10 NLT)

Introduction

Many people feel overlooked, underestimated, or stuck in ordinary circumstances. Like David tending sheep while his brothers appeared more qualified, we may wonder whether God sees us.

The message of today is simple:

You are Made For More.

God has created every believer with divine purpose, unique potential, and an assignment that goes beyond mere survival.

1. God Sees Beyond Human Limitations

Key Text

1 Samuel 16:7

“People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

David’s Story

  • David was not invited to the selection process.
  • He was tending sheep while others were being considered.
  • By human standards, he was forgotten.
  • By God’s standards, he was chosen.

Lesson

Human perception may overlook you, but God’s purpose cannot miss you.

Application

You may currently be:

  • Studying without seeing expected results.
  • Working hard with little recognition.
  • Serving faithfully in obscurity.

God’s remembrance can locate you in unexpected places.

Declaration

My current position does not determine my future destiny.

2. You Are God’s Masterpiece

Key Text

Ephesians 2:10

“We are God’s masterpiece.”

Meaning

You are:

  • Designed intentionally.
  • Created uniquely.
  • Equipped specifically.
  • Assigned purposefully.

God never created anyone empty.

Key Thought

Everyone was born naked, but nobody was born empty.

God deposited gifts, abilities, and potential inside every person.

Application

Your value is not determined by:

  • Your background
  • Your family history
  • Your income
  • Your current status

Your value is determined by God’s design.

Declaration

I am God’s masterpiece, created for His purpose.

3. God Has a Purpose for Every Life

Key Text

Jeremiah 1:5

“Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you.”

Truths About Purpose

Before your birth:

  • God knew you.
  • God planned for you.
  • God ordained your assignment.

Lesson

Purpose is not accidental.

God’s plan is not dependent on:

  • Where you were born.
  • Your social class.
  • Your limitations.
  • The circumstances surrounding your birth.

Application

Success is not merely possessions or achievements.

True success is fulfilling God’s purpose.

4. Don’t Settle for Comfort When God Has Called You to Impact

Illustration

Many people choose the path of least resistance because they define success as comfort.

However:

God’s purpose is bigger than comfort.

Key Truth

You were not created merely to exist.

You were created to:

  • Add value.
  • Influence lives.
  • Advance God’s kingdom.
  • Impact your generation.

Key Question

Am I living for comfort or for purpose?

5. Your Background Does Not Define Your Destiny

Illustration

Key Principle

Your background must not put your back on the ground.

Lesson

Your history explains where you came from.

It does not determine where you are going.

Application

Refuse limitations such as:

  • Family history
  • Economic challenges
  • Negative expectations
  • Social disadvantages

Declaration

My background does not define my destiny.

6. Rise Above Current Limitations

Key Text

“Our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory.”

Truth

Challenges are temporary.

God’s promises are eternal.

Common Limitations

  • Negative environments
  • Self-imposed mental barriers
  • Society’s expectations

Lesson

Faith sees beyond present circumstances.

Declaration

There is more on the other side of my limitations.

7. Develop a “More” Mindset

Key Text

Paul continued pressing toward God’s higher calling.

Signs of a More Mindset

  • Refuses complacency.
  • Pursues growth.
  • Thinks beyond survival.
  • Lives for significance.
  • Focuses on impact.

Don’t merely ask:
“What can I get?”

Ask:
“Whom can I bless?”

God wants you to become:

  • A channel of blessing.
  • A solution provider.
  • A kingdom influencer.

8. Faith Unlocks Divine Possibilities

Key Text

Faith is the driver of divine possibility.

Faith Requires:

  • Seeing beyond limitations.
  • Trusting God’s promises.
  • Refusing negative narratives.
  • Believing God’s report.

Declaration

All things are possible through faith in God.

9. Renew Your Mind

Key Text

Truth

Transformation begins in the mind.

Process

  1. Fill your mind with God’s Word.
  2. Change your belief system.
  3. Change your expectations.

Key Principle

I am defined by God’s purpose for my life.

I refuse to settle for less than God’s intention for me.

I am created by God, redeemed by Christ, empowered by the Holy Spirit, and equipped to accomplish much more for the Kingdom of God.

In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
