Sermon Notes

Text: Isaiah 60:1 (KJV)

“Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee.”

1. Introduction

  • This is not just a theme—it is a divine call.
  • “Arise and be revealed” is a wake-up call to destiny.
  • After hearing so much, God is still saying:
“It is time for YOU to arise.”

2. The Call to Arise

“Arise” means:

  • Wake up from spiritual sleep
  • Rise above fear, doubt, and depression
  • Step out of comfort and excuses

Key Insight:

If you truly look at Jesus, you will realize—you have not done enough.

3. Are We Serving the Same God?

Reflect deeply:

  • The God of Peter (who chose crucifixion upside down)
  • The God of disciples (who left everything)
  • The God who said: “Lose your life for my sake”

Question:

Are we truly serving this same God?

4. Why Must You Arise?

Because:

  • The light has already come (Jesus)
  • This is not a future promise—it is a present reality

John 1 Insight:

  • Jesus is the Light
  • Darkness cannot comprehend Him

Truth:

You are not waiting for light—light is already in you.

5. Arise and Shine (A Command, Not a Suggestion)

  • It is not optional—it is instruction from God
  • Like a serious call—no delay, no excuse

Matthew 5:14–16

  • You are the light of the world
  • Your light must be visible

No one lights a candle and hides it.

6. Signs You Are Spiritually Asleep

  • Comparing yourself with others instead of Christ
  • Making excuses when called to serve
  • Holding back instead of surrendering

Test:

Compare yourself with Jesus—not people.

7. The Urgency of Now

  • Time is not as much as you think
  • Life moves quickly

Truth:

The time to shine is NOW—not later.

8. Understanding Your Identity

  • You are light
  • You are meant to shine—even in darkness

Key Principle:

The darker the environment, the brighter your light should shine.

9. No Struggle Between Light and Darkness

  • Light does not fight darkness—it overcomes instantly

When light appears, darkness disappears.

Application:

  • Walk boldly into situations
  • Carry confidence in Christ

10. Case Study: Blind Bartimaeus

  • Known as a beggar at the gate
  • Became a testimony through bold action

Lesson:

Don’t let your condition define your identity.

11. Do Not Limit Yourself

Stop saying:

  • “I can’t speak”
  • “I’m not qualified”
  • “I don’t have connections”

Isaiah 60:3

“Gentiles shall come to your light…”

Truth:

Your limitation is only in your mindset.

12. The Power of Mindset

  • The righteous are bold as a lion
  • Your confidence comes from knowing who you carry

13. Jesus: Your Access (Key Illustration)

  • Like an ATM card gives access to an account
  • Jesus gives access to:
    • Power
    • Authority
    • Kingdom blessings

Key Insight:

When you carry Jesus, heaven recognizes you.

14. Without Jesus, There Is No Access

  • You cannot shine without light
  • You cannot access God without Christ

John 3:3 Insight

  • To enter the kingdom, you must be born again

15. The Power of Grace (Through Jesus)

At Jesus’ death:

  • Graves opened
  • Rocks split
  • Veil torn
  • Earth shook
  • Lives restored

Meaning:

Jesus brought GRACE—full access to God.

16. Your Light Must Be Revealed

  • It’s not enough to have light—you must shine
  • People must see evidence of God in you

Challenge:

Can your life prove that God exists?

17. The Invitation

  • Don’t delay
  • Don’t procrastinate

Now is the time—not tomorrow.

18. Call to Action

  • Arise from complacency
  • Accept Jesus fully
  • Step into your identity
  • Let your life reflect God’s glory

19. Closing Charge

“You only shine because the light has come—now arise and be revealed.”

Altar Call Emphasis

  • Come to Jesus
  • Surrender fully
  • Let your life show evidence

“Let it show that I am truly a child of God.”
