Sermon Title: El Shaddai – Our All-Sufficient Father

Opening Scripture

Proverbs 4:12 (NLT)

“When you walk, you won’t be held back; when you run, you won’t stumble.”

Proverbs 4:12 (Passion Translation)

“Your progress will have no limits when you come along with me, and you will never stumble as you walk along the way.”

Personal Declaration

  • When I walk, I will not be held back.
  • When I run, I will not stumble.
  • My progress has no limits.
  • I will never stumble.
  • I am a child of God.

1. Understanding Who We Are in God

Key Scripture

1 John 3:1–3 (NLT)

Key Truths

  • God loves us deeply and calls us His children.
  • The world does not recognize us because it does not know Him.
  • Believers sometimes struggle because we do not fully understand who we are in Christ.
  • When we have expectation, we live differently.

Important Principle

Expectation leads to manifestation.

The earth is waiting for the manifestation of the sons of God.

2. God Reveals Himself as El Shaddai

Scripture

Genesis 17:1–2

God introduced Himself to Abraham as El Shaddai.

Meaning of El Shaddai

  • El – The Mighty One
  • Shaddai – The All-Sufficient One

Together it means:

God who is more than enough.

He:

  • Can do all things
  • Knows all things
  • Has all power
  • Has unlimited sufficiency

3. What It Means That El Shaddai Is Your Father

When El Shaddai is your Father:

  • His sufficiency becomes your supply
  • His strength becomes your security
  • His abundance becomes your inheritance
  • His presence becomes your identity

Because of Christ we can call Him:

“Abba, Father.”

Scripture

Romans 8:14–17

  • We are led by the Spirit of God.
  • We are adopted as God’s children.
  • We are heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ.

4. How Children of El Shaddai Should Live

1. You Are Not Defined by Lack

Your Father is more than enough.

Where you see:

  • limitation → God sees opportunity
  • emptiness → God brings fullness
  • lack → God brings abundance

2. You Are Not Defined by Fear

You are not:

  • an orphan
  • abandoned
  • alone

You have divine help.

Your destiny is:

  • blessed
  • defined
  • glorious

You are above only and not beneath.

3. You Are Not Defined by Your Past

God did not remind Abraham of his failures.

Instead God declared:

“I am God Almighty.”

Key Truth

God’s sufficiency covers our insufficiency.

2 Corinthians 5:17

If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.

Your past cannot disqualify you.

5. How El Shaddai Fathers His Children

1. He Places His Name on You

Just as God declared at Jesus’ baptism:

“This is my beloved Son.”

When you accepted Christ, heaven declared you God’s child.

2. He Provides in Abundance

Example:
The widow’s oil never ran out.

El Shaddai does not provide barely—
He provides abundantly.

3. He Sustains in Difficult Seasons

In:

  • weakness
  • dryness
  • confusion

God sustains His children.

4. He Strengthens When You Are Weak

Like the story of “Footprints in the Sand.”

When there were only two footprints, God said:

“Those were not your steps. I was carrying you.”

God never abandons His children.

5. He Multiplies What You Have

God multiplies whatever you place in His hands.

Key question:

What is in your hand?

6. He Fulfills His Promises

If God says it, it will come to pass.

Unlike humans, God never fails to keep His word.

6. God’s Invitation

Scripture

Genesis 17:1

“Walk before me and be blameless.”

This is not a demand for perfection.

It is an invitation to dependence.

Meaning:

  • Walk with God.
  • Depend on Him.
  • Let His perfection cover your imperfection.

7. How We Should Respond to El Shaddai

When you truly see God as your Father, your response will be:

1. Worship

You recognize He is worthy.

2. Surrender

You give everything to Him.

3. Confidence

You trust His promises.

4. Appreciation

You thank Him for His provision.

5. Praise

You celebrate who He is.

8. Key Declarations

When you declare El Shaddai as your Father, you are saying:

  • I am not alone.
  • I am not an orphan.
  • I am not abandoned.
  • I have help.
  • I have hope.
  • I cannot fail.
  • My supply cannot run dry.

Final Encouragement

Stop striving to earn God’s love.

You are already His child.

The God who is more than enough is your Father.
