Introduction

God has revealed Himself throughout every generation as Jehovah Rapha—the Lord who heals. Healing is not merely what God does; it is part of His nature. He desires His children to enjoy wholeness—physically, spiritually, mentally, and emotionally.

Key Truth: One touch from Jesus can change everything.

1. God’s Desire Is for His Children to Walk in Health

Key Scriptures

  • 3 John 1:2
  • Exodus 15:26 – “I am the Lord that healeth thee.”
  • Deuteronomy 7:15
  • Jeremiah 33:6

Key Points

  • God is the source of all true healing.
  • Medicine and doctors are valuable, but ultimate healing comes from God.
  • Healing is part of God’s covenant with His people.
  • God’s desire is that we continually enjoy good health.

Quote:

“God’s ultimate desire for us is wholeness.”

2. The Healing Touch of Jesus Changes Everything

Mark 1:40–42

The leper approached Jesus with faith:

“If You are willing, You can make me clean.”

Jesus responded:

“I will; be clean.”

Immediately the leprosy left him.

Lessons from the Leper

  • He came despite rejection.
  • He approached Jesus in humility.
  • He believed Jesus was able.
  • Jesus responded with compassion.

Faith attracts the compassion of Christ.

3. Why Does God Want Us Healthy?

A. Our Bodies Are God’s Temple

Scripture: 1 Corinthians 6:19–20

  • Our bodies belong to God.
  • We were bought with a price.
  • Healthy bodies glorify God.

B. We Are Created to Praise Him

Scripture: Isaiah 43:21

God created us for Himself.

We are:

  • Custom-made to worship Him
  • Created to glorify Him
  • Formed to declare His praise

C. Good Health Helps Us Fulfill Our Assignment

Scripture: Acts 1:8

Healthy believers can:

  • Serve effectively
  • Witness boldly
  • Fulfill God’s purpose

Illness limits our effectiveness, but health empowers ministry.

4. What Is in the Name of Jesus?

A. Authority

Philippians 2:9–11

Every knee bows at His name.

B. Healing Power

Acts 3:16

The lame man at the Beautiful Gate was healed through faith in Jesus’ name.

Luke 8:46

“Power has gone out from Me.”

Healing power is still in His name.

C. Dominion

Believers have authority through Jesus.

Acts 9:32–35

Peter declared:

“Jesus Christ heals you.”

The man was healed immediately.

D. Salvation

Matthew 1:21

Jesus saves His people from their sins.

Acts 4:12

There is no other name by which we are saved.

E. Protection

Proverbs 18:10

“The name of the Lord is a strong tower.”

Protection, peace, joy, provision, and victory are found in Him.

John 15:5

Apart from Him we can do nothing.

2. Draw Near to God

James 4:8

  • Seek Him in prayer.
  • Seek Him in worship.
  • Stay close to His presence.

As we draw near to Him, He draws near to us.

3. Trust His Compassion

Jesus is full of mercy and compassion.

He is willing to touch every area of our lives.
